Budget airline easyJet has announced flights between Liverpool and the Croatian city of Split.
Flights will run twice a week, on Mondays and Fridays, starting on June 9 and will continue until October 24.
By launching the Liverpool John Lennon Airport (LJLA) route, easyJet adds a fifteenth connection from Split, further enhancing its network to this popular Adriatic destination.
This move strengthens easyJet’s position in Split, where it is already the leading airline by capacity.
The decision also reflects rising demand for travel between the UK and Croatia during the busy summer months.
Travellers can now book tickets on the airline’s website, offering an easy way to plan summer holidays to the Croatian city. One-way tickets from June 9 2025 start as low as £73.
In 2021, Spilt Airport was the busiest in Croatia, handling 1.57 million passengers, surpassing Zagreb Airport for the first time. In 2023, it received over 3.3 million passengers, an almost 15 percent increase from previous years.
Paul Winfield, aviation director for LJLA, according to the Liverpool Echo, said: “We’re delighted to add another new route with easyJet for Summer 2025.
“Croatia is a market hugely underserved from Liverpool and this will be our first scheduled service to Split, with the region’s passengers now able to fly there from the UK’s number one airport.”
Split is the second-largest city of Croatia, after the capital Zagreb, the largest city in Dalmatia and the largest city on the Croatian coast. It lies on the eastern shore of the Adriatic Sea.
An intra-regional transport hub and popular tourist destination, the city is linked to the Adriatic islands and the Apennine Peninsula. More than 900,000 tourists visit it each year.
Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK country manager, said: “Launching another new route from Liverpool for next summer, is proof that our flights are as popular as ever for our customers in the North West.
“Split is a real allrounder and offers a mix of rich history to explore, alongside outstanding beaches and a vibrant waterfront. We are confident it will be a great choice for customers planning their summer holidays next year.
“We are committed to providing more choice for customers from across the North West who choose to fly with easyJet for our unrivalled network, fantastic service and great value fares.”
