While all eyes are on the dramatic gowns and mega-watt diamonds at the Venice Film Festival, New York is gearing up for the start of its SS25 show season that officially begins tomorrow, on September 6.
To kick things off in style, Bulgari hosted an exclusive party last night in an NYC hotel penthouse to celebrate its new Tubogas jewellery collection – and of course, the fashion crowd was there in full force, including Naomi Campbell and Paris Jackson. But the star of the show was undoubtedly Dakota Johnson, who arrived at the event in a glorious Gucci dress that was equal parts glamorous, sultry and bang on trend.

Acting as the ultimate proof that brown dresses are having a moment right now – and likely will be for the foreseeable – Johnson stepped out in a silky, chocolate-coloured Gucci slip, featuring contrasting sheer black lace panels on the chest that also provided an unexpected ‘free the nipple’ moment. An ‘underwear as outerwear’ double whammy, if you will.
Johnson completed the look with jewels from Bulgari’s new collection, including a medallion-style necklace featuring a real Roman coin, and a matching bracelet. The actor’s long, brown glossy locks complemented the look perfectly, as did the subtle smoky eye and natural make-up she opted for.
The Fifty Shades star rarely puts a fashion foot wrong, but this might just be one of our favourite, most effortlessly chic ensembles of hers to date. Here’s hoping her looks are a fixture of the Fashion Week front rows in the coming weeks, too.
