Fleetwood Town have sacked manager Charlie Adam after just under a year in the job following a run of one win in their past 11 league games.
The Cod Army lost 2-0 at Barrow on Saturday, their fifth defeat in a run which also includes five draws.
In addition, they were knocked out of the FA Cup in the first round at Reading last month.
Former Liverpool midfielder Adam took charge on New Year’s Eve 2023, replacing Lee Johnson, in his first job as a manager.
The 39-year-old failed to prevent the Lancashire club being relegated to League Two at the end of last season and they are currently 18th in the table, eight points above the relegation zone.
Fleetwood owner Jamie Pilley said: “I’d like to personally thank Charlie for his commitment and professionalism over the last 12 months.
“He’s been a pleasure to work with but recent results meant we felt a change was necessary. I wish him well for the future.”
Fleetwood’s next match is against Chesterfield at home on Boxing Day.
