A week-long charity shop has opened on Old Burlington Street in Mayfair, London, featuring a large number of items donated by celebrities and high-end brands.
The space is part of the Pollen Estate, just around the corner from Savile Row, and is selling donated clothing items from supermodel David Gandy, Kate Moss, Colin Firth, Daniel Craig, Minnie Driver, and Liam Gallagher. Businesses such as Savile Row tailors and luxury brands including Marc Jacobs, Jimmy Choo, Anderson & Sheppard, Barbour, Mr Porter, Sunspel, Wales Bonner, Watches of Switzerland Group and others have also donated items.
The pop-up is raising funds for Crisis, the national charity for people experiencing homelessness across Great Britain. Its celebrity supporters have also donated items for a raffle, while other items will be available to buy straight from the shop.
Charity fundraiser Pop-Up Crisis has raised over £500,000 since the temporary shop first opened its doors back in 2018 on Savile Row.
The appeal of the curated selection of designer clothing, old stock and samples is being boosted by attention-grabbing activities such as DJs Jonjo Jury and Bestley curating DJ sets throughout the week, as well as the aforementioned raffle.
David Gandy, said: “I’ve been involved with Crisis for a number of years and greatly admire the incredible work the charity does to help end homelessness. The Crisis at Christmas Savile Row pop-up is an integral part of the festive calendar, and it’s an honour that pieces from my wardrobe will help to raise money for a great cause close to my heart.”
Jenny Casebourne, head of portfolio of The Pollen Estate added: “The Estate has been a proud supporter of the charity campaign Crisis at Christmas, especially its pop-up shop initiative, since the first year it opened its doors. It’s truly wonderful to see how the local community pulls together to support Crisis’ work in ending homelessness for good.”
Pop-Up Crisis was founded by Anda Rowland, director of Savile Row tailors Anderson & Sheppard and Tom Stubbs, menswear stylist and writer, in 2018.
This year it runs until 14 December.
