British Airways alerts passengers to disruption affecting UK’s two busiest airports – ‘plan your journey!’

British Airways has warned holidaymakers of disruptions set to impact the UK’s two biggest airports.

With M25 closures happening across two weekends in March, passengers have been advised to plan alternative routes.

The motorway will be closed in both directions between junctions nine and 10 from March 7-10 and again from March 21-24.

Both closures will begin at 9pm on Friday and continue until 6am on Monday.

The closures will affect travellers heading to both Heathrow and Gatwick Airport, with diversions in place during the works.

British Airways issued a strong warning to passengers to plan their journeys during the closure periods.

The airline said: “We strongly advise you to plan your journey in advance and allow for extra time to reach the airport.”

The airline recommended that passengers check the National Highways website for the most up-to-date information before travelling.

The twice-weekly service, set to launch on June 25, 2025, will operate on Wednesdays and Sundays throughout the summer season.

Fares for the new route start from £44.99, aiming to offer travellers an affordable gateway to the French region of Brittany.

Gatwick airline relations manager Jennifer Newman welcomed the new route, stating: “easyJet already connects passengers to an extensive range of destinations across Europe and with its rich history and dramatic landscapes, Brest [in Brittany] is a wonderful addition to the network.”
