The next roster decision has come as the Kentucky Wildcats embark on the Mark Pope era.
With John Calipari off to Fayetteville, recruits and signees are likely following him to Arkansas as well.
According to a report by On3’s Joe Tipton, 4-star wing Billy Richmond has decommitted from Kentucky.
The 6-foot-6, 200-pound Richmond is ranked as high as 20th overall in the 2024 class by On3, while his lowest ranking is 39th at ESPN. He now joins Jayden Quaintance, Somto Cyril, Boogie Fland, and Karter Knox as the players in the 2024 class to reopen their recruitments after the announcement of Calipari leaving Lexington.
Richmond’s family has a tight connection to Cal, as his father played for him during his time in Memphis. Add in the Camden connection, and the pieces will be there for him to look elsewhere. He’s likely to end up at Arkansas alongside fellow Camden product DJ Wagner, who is currently in the transfer portal but is likely to end up with the Hogs.
One thing to note, however, in regard to Richmond is his connection to Nate Oats. Alongside Kentucky, Alabama was on the final list for the talented wing, so the Tide could be one to watch for.
