It’s no secret the UK can get bitterly cold in December, so if you want something to warm you up, and a place to explore, then you might want to book a flight to this “underrated holiday destination” for a city break.
Travel influencer Rob Adcock said if you haven’t been you “need to get it on your list” and visit.
He wondered on TikTok:“Why aren’t more people talking about this place?” He then shared you can get flights there for just £26 return, and the flight is less than two hours away.
The travel guru said the price of stuff was “ridiculous”, admitting: “beers cost you about £1.20 in a cafe and cost as little as 77p in a supermarket.”
Rob referred to the food as “banging” saying it was “giveaway prices”. But where is it? He was visiting Porto, in Portugal.
“I took €100 in cash, and I’m struggling to spend it,” he admitted.
Rob said there were “translation issues” when he was ordering some food with a pal, and so they ended up with three whole chickens and loads of chips, but it somehow still only cost them £18. He joked it was “actually embarrassing” how much food they had.
“The weather is sound, the lowest it really gets is 14 degrees,” and said the clips on his TikTok were from “the middle of December” when it was snowing in the UK.
He said it’s “easy to get around” and there are good public transport links around.
Rob boasted he and a friend split a £32 two-bedroom apartment, and it was decorated in a modern way which was located “right in the centre of the city”.
He said he’s been to “loads of places” and “can’t remember” a time where he was more “impressed” with somewhere.
“Put Porto on your list,” he concluded while also sharing if you’re flexible on Skyscanner, it will show you when the cheapest flights are available.
“I went to Porto earlier in the year and absolutely loved it,” someone commented. Another added: “I’m going Porto in Feb, looks amazing.”
A TikTok user said that Lisbon was their favourite place in Portugal.
