CEO of Tesla and SpaceX Elon Musk and Bernard Arnault, the chairman of luxury conglomerate LVMH, have revealed a potential collaboration between two iconic brands, Louis Vuitton and SpaceX.
Arnault spoke about his relationship with Musk during an interview on CNBC’s ‘Squawk Box’, ahead of the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, of which LVMH is a sponsor. Notably, Arnault hinted at the possibility of a Louis Vuitton-branded SpaceX rocket.
“Last time we discussed one idea, which is a rocket. Maybe we have a way to put Louis Vuitton in a rocket. I don’t know if we go somewhere,” said Arnault on his last conversation with Musk, during Squawk Box. “I’m afraid he will ask me to go with him in the rocket.”
If realized, the alliance between LVMH and SpaceX would signify a turning point in cross-industry collaborations. By combining luxury craftsmanship with aerospace technology advancements, this partnership could lead to the creation of new products and services. Still, an official collaboration has not been confirmed.
