The Kentucky Wildcats tipped off their second exhibition game vs. Minnesota State, and they started a little bit slower than in the first matchup against Kentucky Wesleyan.
They also took a tough blow early, as Drexel transfer and starting center Amari Williams left the floor around the 16-minute mark with what appeared to be a lower-body injury. He was grimacing in pain on the sideline before going to the locker room under his own power for further testing.
It’s still way too early to know the extent of the injury, but let’s hope it is nothing too serious for the talented play-making big man. Williams, in his first game, showed his importance to this roster as he helped lead the offense while also adding a tough veteran presence in the low post.
We will need to keep our eyes on his potential return tonight. If not, we will take a long look at the Oklahoma State transfer Brandon Garrison.
