6. England’s highest-ever Test partnership
Most remarkably, Root and Brook went past the 411-run partnership set by Peter May and Colin Cowdrey in 1957, which came from 1,140 balls. In contrast, the 454-run stand from the two Yorkshiremen came from just 522 balls. It is the fourth-highest partnership for any wicket in Test history.
