The Kentucky Wildcats are off to a hot start on the recruiting trail for the class of 2025, as Mark Pope and his staff have made some serious noise in their first full recruiting cycle.
With three commitments on board, including Jasper Johnson and Malachi Moreno, the Cats added their most recent player less than a week ago in Acaden Lewis. A talented point guard in the 2025 class, Lewis chose the Cats over UConn and Duke, helping bolster an already promising outlook on the roster next season.
Lewis joined Jacob Polacheck of KSR on his podcast Here Comes the Boom this week. In addition to talking about his commitment, Lewis pointed to one player he is excited about potentially teaming up with next season.
“He’s just a player you want to play with, not play against,” said Lewis about current UK guard Otega Oweh.
Oweh has been quite impressive through the first two regular-season games of his Wildcat career. After being the MVP of Kentucky’s two exhibition games, the talented guard is showing fans across the country they might have underestimated his value for this team this season.
With a solid season in Lexington this year, there stands a chance that Oweh could be making his way off to the NBA. However, if he stays, the Cats would have a talented backcourt on the roster in Lewis, Johnson, and Oweh.
