LIV Golf’s top talents return to British soil, after a thrilling appearance at the Open Championship at Royal Troon, where 11 out of 18 LIV golfers made the cut, with Jon Rahm being the only player to card an under-par score of -1. Now, the new-circuit league players are back in the familiar territory and are ready for their next challenge. The LIV Golf UK is set to tee off on July 26 at the JCB Golf & Country Club, marking its first and exciting stop on the LIV schedule.
The tee timings for round one Friday have been announced, so let’s see what the outlook is like.

LIV Golf Communications, on their official X handle, shared pairings for the first round of the event. The round will begin at 2:15 pm (ET) with the much-awaited ‘Shotgun Start.’ In a unique twist, LIV Golf introduces a new style pairing, with 13 out of the 18 featured groups having teammates playing together. This adds an extra layer of team dynamics.
Do you think LIV Golf’s new pairings will shake up the 2024 season?
Leading the charge on the first tee is the Crushers GC Team, led by Captain Bryson DeChambeau, Paul Casey, and Anirban Lahiri. Notably, the trio previously won hearts as runners-up at LIV Andalucía, narrowly losing in a playoff to the Sergio Garcia-led Fireballs GC.
Next in line is the Jon Rahm-led Legion XIII, paired with his teammates Tyrrell Hatton and Caleb Surratt, following the same innovative grouping format. Although Rahm recently impressed with a T-7 finish at the Open Championship, his team Legion XIII didn’t quite meet expectations on their home turf at Real Golf Valderrama, settling for 10th place among the 13 teams. Now, they will look to bounce back and make a statement at the LIV UK event.

Moreover, Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC, fresh from an exceptional performance in Spain, will aim for a second successive title. Garcia, along with teammates David Puig and Abraham Ancer, will tee off from the 17th group, seeking to build on their momentum. The Spaniard claimed the LIV Andalucía individual title, and a $4 million prize money, with a 5-under 208, in a thrilling playoff against Anirban Lahiri. Can they keep their winning streak alive at the LIV Golf UK, or will Crushers GC bounce back this time?
Starting with the first tee, Bryson DeChambeau and his team are hungry for victory. With their unique blend of skills and teamwork, they’re determined to give it their all this time. But it’s not just about DeChambeau – his teammate Anirban Lahiri is also driven to succeed. Lahiri’s missed 2-foot playoff putt haunted him for days. The Indian golfer confessed, “The first 2-3 nights, every time I’d shut my eyes, I’d find myself on the 18th green of Valderrama.”

However, after a gut-wrenching loss at LIV Golf Andalucía, Lahiri is more determined than ever. “The first few nights, I couldn’t shake off the feeling of what could’ve been,” he admitted. “But I’ve had time to reflect, and now I’m focused on the future.” The 37-year-old’s journey to redemption begins at the LIV Golf UK event, where he’ll join forces with DeChambeau and Paul Casey to take on the competition.
