Seventeen people are in hospital after a minibus full of football fans flipped over on the A1(M) on Saturday.
Emergency services rushed to the scene on the major UK motorway, near Pontefract, on April 13, following reports of a crash involving a black Skoda Fabia and an Iris single-decker minibus – believed to be carrying South Shields FC supporters.
A spokesperson for Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “We responded to the incident with a wide range of resources and 17 patients were taken to hospitals in the region.”
Pictures posted to social media revealed the extent of the damage to the vehicle, which was overturned on the nortbound carriageway between junctions 40 and 41.
