The online gaming company DrückGlück has shared the world’s most popular travel destinations according to holidaymakers looking for the perfect photo to post on social media.
When planning some time away, many tourists consider the number of photo opportunities that popular holiday destinations offer.
According to DrückGlück’s study, which looked at the number of hashtags each location has received on Instagram, Santorini is the most popular destination for social media lovers.
One of the most famous islands in Greece, Santorini is best known for its capital Fira, which features traditional buildings built upon the hill, all painted in a distinctive white.
Whilst parts of the island can get incredibly busy, particularly during the summer months, there are plenty of quiet spots that offer beautiful views of the countryside and fresh air.
Another destination recommended by DrückGlück for Instagram-worthy photos was Cinque Terre, a small coastal area on the Italian Riviera.
Much like Santorini, the small collection of towns feature rows of pastel-coloured buildings that look particularly good at sunrise and sunset.
Cinque Terre is also an ideal holiday destination for tourists to soak up some Italian history, with the nearby Capuchin Friars Monastry being a part of the area since 1618.
Finally, DrückGlück suggested that tourists looking to take good photos should also consider visiting the Charles Bridge in Prague.
Whilst the capital of the Czech Republic has plenty of picturesque attractions, the Charles Bridge, which spans across the Vltava River, offers incredibly detailed architecture.
Tourists also noted that Prague is one of Europe’s cheapest destinations for a city break and can take as little as two hours to reach from London.
