While there is no snow on the ground, I can assure it is indeed Christmas time here in Kentucky. Don’t believe me? I found this secret wish list the Kentucky basketball team filled out and sent to Santa. Some naughty little elf sent me a copy, and I am going to share it with you.
Otega Oweh (G)
Gift: A sleigh filled with confidence to keep attacking the rim!
With his team-leading 50.4% shooting, Oweh needs to stay aggressive and keep delivering gifts of buckets for Kentucky all season long.
Lamont Butler (G)
Gift: An unlimited range shooting badge.
Shooting 43.3% from beyond the arc, Butler’s sharp shooting is already a Christmas miracle compared to his previous stats. Santa says: shoot more threes Lamont!
Jaxson Robinson (G)
Gift: A new set of three-point reindeer shoes.
Robinson’s 30% from deep could use a boost to match his 12.3 points per game. Keep shooting, Jaxson—Santa believes!
Koby Brea (G)
Gift: A golden three-point cannon.
Shooting 50.7% from three-point land, Brea is already a sniper. Santa’s advice? Keep firing away every chance you get. Ho Ho Ho.
Andrew Carr (F)
Gift: A big bag of sticky gloves for rebounding.
Carr is second on the Cats with 6.3 boards per game. His presence in the paint is the star on top of Kentucky’s Christmas tree, but those numbers need to keep going higher.
Amari Williams (C)
Gift: A turbo-powered sleigh for blocking shots.
With 1.6 blocks per game, Williams protects the rim like Santa protects the North Pole. Still it needs to be better if this team is going to compete in March.
Brandon Garrison (F)
Gift: A Santa-sized assist bag.
Averaging 2.4 assists per game, Garrison’s passing helps the team stay merry and bright. Keep spreading the holiday cheer Brandon, it is much needed!
Ansley Almonor (F)
Gift: A shooting star for his three-point game.
Shooting 35.7% from deep, Almonor has been a solid bench contributor. A little extra stardust could light up his game even more and help the Cats not drop off when the bench is called on.
Kerr Kriisa (G)
Gift: A shiny new foot fully recovered
Kriisa’s 27.9% field-goal percentage needs a Christmas miracle, as does his health. Santa suggests finding the North Star to guide those shots into the basket young Kriisa.
Collin Chandler (G)
Gift: A ticket to development camp
With just eight minutes per game, Chandler could benefit from more opportunities to showcase his skills but before that, he needs to get back to basketball shape. Santa appreciates the good cheer he spread on his mission, Santa knows you will get your shooting touch back soon.
Trent Noah (F)
Gift: A magical snowball to playing time
Noah has barely seen the floor at all, and when he has, he has actually looked really good. Maybe if he regift’s this to coach Pope he can break through with some rotation minutes.
Travis Perry (G)
Gift: A dazzling spotlight to shine in his role.
Perry plays sparingly but brings energy whenever called upon. Santa says, “Keep that hustle up, the rest will come”
Walker Horn (G)
Gift: A Christmas wish for his first bucket.
Horn has yet to score this season. Santa’s advice? Keep working—it’ll come, and it’ll be magical!
Merry Christmas to the Wildcats and BBN—may your stockings be filled with wins, and your hoops season merry and bright!
On paper, Kentucky center Amari Williams has been massive to the program’s success this season. Advanced stats love his numbers. EvanMiya ranks him as th
