Kentucky vs Louisville Battle of the Bluegrass rivalry facts to know
No.5 Kentucky faces a Louisville team hungry for a signature win in the Battle of the Bluegrass at Rupp Arena on Saturday. Learn some rivalry facts.
Today marks the dawn of a new era in the storied Louisville vs. Kentucky basketball rivalry.
After both programs weathered coaching changes during the same offseason for the first time since 1930, Pat Kelsey leads the Cardinals (6-4) into Rupp Arena to battle Mark Pope‘s fifth-ranked Wildcats (9-1).

U of L is looking to snap a two-game losing streak — with a 21-point average margin of defeat. It hasn’t won in Lexington since Jan. 5, 2008 and owns a 5-21 road record in the series.
