Kentucky basketball has decisive advantages in all-time series with numerous opponents. That’s especially true of foes UK has squared off with at least 10 times.

Ohio State is not of those lopsided series.

The teams have played 21 times.

The Wildcats own the narrowest of leads, up 11-10 entering today’s matchup at Madison Square Garden, which is part of this year’s CBS Sports Classic. The last two meetings between the pair have been CBS Sports Classic contests; the Buckeyes won both, earning a 74-67 victory in 2015 and a 71-65 triumph in 2019.

But the Wildcats won the three matchups before that: 2011 (in the NCAA Tournament), 1996 (in the Rock-N-Roll Shootout in Cleveland) and 1993 (in the Maui Invitational).

UK aims for another win today as it tries to continue a banner season under first-year coach Mark Pope. The Wildcats are 10-1 and ranked fourth in both the USA TODAY Coaches and Associated Press polls. The Buckeyes are 6-4, but only 1-2 versus SEC squads in 2024-25, beating Texas in their regular-season opener but losing to Texas A&M and Auburn.

Here’s what you need to know to follow today’s game from home:

UK and Ohio State are slated to tip off at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET today at Madison Square Garden in New York. It will start after the first CBS Sports Classic game today between North Carolina and UCLA, which begins at 3 p.m.

Betting odds: Kentucky is a 7 ½-point favorite (-110) on BetMGM, which set the over/under at 160 ½ points (-110). The money line odds are Kentucky -350, Ohio State +260.

The contest between the Wildcats and Buckeyes will air on CBS. Brad Nessler (play-by-play) Bill Raftery (analyst) and Jenny Dell (sideline) will have the call.
