The Bucks and Pacers haven’t met in the postseason in over 20 years but they will face off this weekend in the 2024 NBA playoffs.
Giannis Antetokounmpo is expected to miss at least the start of the series with a calf strain sustained against the Boston Celtics on April 9. Without him, Milwaukee could very well meet the Indiana team that beat them four out of five times during the regular season.
Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points and 10.5 rebounds per game, figures the Bucks will be without in Game 1. That being said, Milwaukee does have home court advantage and will begin the series at Fiserv Forum.
Tyrese Haliburton has been a leading distributor for the Pacers, averaging a league-best 10.9 assists per game. Indiana added Pascal Siakam mid-season as well, providing a much needed boost.
Three of the Bucks’ eight fastest-pace games this season were against the Pacers, who scored 122 points per 100 possessions. Additionally, without Antetokounmpo in the mix, Haliburton against Damien Lillard will be a matchup to watch during Game 1.
