The Kentucky women’s basketball team didn’t have much time to celebrate Sunday’s rivalry win over Louisville. The Wildcats are back in action tonight to host Purdue Fort Wayne less than 48 hours after taking down the Cardinals for the first time since 2015.
But just because there’s a quick turnaround time in between games, that doesn’t mean we can’t bask in the glory of beating UK’s little sibling for a bit longer. The UK Sports Video team has blessed us with a women’s basketball version of “The Journey”, which takes us inside the pregame and postgame locker room atmosphere during Kentucky’s 71-61 overtime win against the Cards.
“You go out there and be the best version of yourself. Be confident as hell,” head coach Kenny Brooks says in the video below. “Know what you’re playing for, know what you’re playing for. Understand this is our state, man. It’s our state. You don’t get a whole lot of these. You don’t get a whole lot of these. Enjoy every second.”
The Big Blue Nation certainly enjoyed every (well, almost every) second of Sunday’s win. And you’ll enjoy every second of this excellent recap. Make sure to catch Brooks and the Wildcats in action tonight inside Memorial Coliseum at 6:00 p.m. EST on the SEC Network+.
