The Football Association of Wales (FAW) has confirmed the postponement of all football matches scheduled for Saturday, 7 December, following urgent advice from The Met Office about the impending Storm Darragh.
The Met Office has issued severe weather warnings across most of Wales, with Red, Amber, and Yellow warnings in place due to the anticipated storm. Storm Darragh is expected to bring destructive winds and heavy rainfall, creating potentially life-threatening conditions and significant disruption.
Authorities strongly advise against travel and recommend that people remain indoors to avoid potential injury. The storm’s predicted high winds and heavy precipitation pose substantial risks to public safety, making sporting events impossible to conduct safely.
The comprehensive list of cancelled matches includes games across multiple Welsh football leagues:
JD Cymru South Postponed Matches:
JD Cymru Premier Postponed Matches:
JD Cymru North Postponed Matches:
Football clubs have been instructed to secure loose items around their grounds if it can be done safely, including bins, furniture, goalposts, and fencing.
The Football Association of Wales will announce rearranged dates for these matches in the coming weeks.
Fans are advised to stay informed through official club and FAW communications and prioritise personal safety during the severe weather conditions.
