Cult beauty and clothing basics brand Vieve is to open a winter pop-up store in its home city, Glasgow, next week with a debut at Buchanan Galleries, which was, until recently, set for demolition.
The store will officially open on 5 December and will offer the full Vieve product line-up, including new and exclusive merchandise.
The Jamie Genevieve-founded brand has built a loyal community following with its curated collection of products, guided by the brand’s ethos of “inclusivity and self-expression” in every product.
The Buchanan Galleries store features a range of vegan and cruelty-free cosmetics, including bestsellers Skin Nova, Modern Mascara, Sunset Blush Balm and Lip Dew, as well as its new Skin Nova Complexion Balm.
Make-up artists will be on hand “offering the exceptional shopping experience”.
Kathy Murdoch, Centre Director at Buchanan Galleries, said: “Vieve is one of the most frequently requested brands by our guests, so we’re really excited to be welcoming them to our retailer line-up this year, just in time for Christmas.”
Its arrival comes as a boost for the centre, anchored by John Lewis, and home to over 80 stores. According to local reports, Buchanan Galleries has staved off a demolition plan after a rethink by its owner Landsec and a change to its redevelopment plans.
An area around the centre on the famous Sauchiehall Street was to be completely rebuilt as part of an £825 million project to boost the day- and night-time economies in the city, according to BBC Scotland.
But the property giant now believes this still can be achieved with the Galleries forming part of its “vision” for the site.
According to city councillors, the developers have gone back to the drawing board for new plans, with councillor Kieran Turner telling GlasgowLive a possible “scaled down plan” will still involve “significant investment”.
