Viddal Riley and Isaac Chamberlain will finally meet in a highly-anticipated all-British cruiserweight showdown on February 1, live on Sky Sports.
A domestic showdown has been brewing for some time as the pair brace for what could prove a defining night in their respective career paths.
Riley extended his perfect professional record to 12-0 on Saturday night as he defeated heavyweight Dan Garber on the undercard of Natasha Jonas’ unification clash with Ivana Habazin in Liverpool.
Chamberlain is meanwhile 16-3 after suffering a unanimous decision defeat to Jack Massey at Crystal Palace’s Selhurst Park in June.
“The paths have aligned now, we can talk, we can fight, sounds like great business,” said Riley following his win on Saturday.
The pair share notable unanimous decision victories over Mikael Lawal, Riley impressively overcoming a rib injury on the way to a commanding win in March earlier this year.
Riley’s development has seemingly piqued the interest of YouTube star Jake Paul such is the Londoner’s own social media presence, but the 27-year-old has long been insistent on his desire to prioritise domestic and, eventually, world titles. Chamberlain would beckon as the latest step towards that.
For Chamberlain, it is an opportunity to issue a statement response to his setback against Massey as he looks to work his way back towards the cruiserweight division’s biggest names.
