In 2026, the United States, Canada and Mexico will host the FIFA World Cup 2026. Ahead of the international event, New York-based VFiles, a start-up and social media hub launched in 2012 that has become a “digital and experiential creator platform that connects and empowers the creative global youth community,” has just announced the signing of an official licensing agreement with FIFA.
“It is so exciting that the FIFA World Cup 2026 will take place in the U.S., Canada and Mexico in 2026, and the final will be played a short drive from the VFiles store in NYC,” explained Julie-Anne Quay, founder of VFiles, who has already collaborated for brands such as Adidas, Diesel, Converse and Sprite.
“Additionally the FIFA Club World Cup, which brings together the 32 best soccer clubs on the planet, will be held in the United States in 2025. So whilst these events were not the trigger for this ready-to-wear license, they create such a massive global stage for our collections and we are excited to share in the momentum.”
Presented under the brand name FIFA 1904, the first ready-to-wear collection from the International Federation of Association Football harks back to the origins of FIFA, which was founded in 1904 on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris. The collection will encompass both menswear and womenswear and will seamlessly blend professional chic with lifestyle and streetwear fusing football and fashion in a distinctive style.
“As a member of the Academic Board of the FIFA Diploma in Club Management and a director/co-owner of Barnsley Football Club, I have had a front-row seat to football in many aspects,” said Quay. “There is a certain style in football from the executives to the players and FIFA 1904 covers the need for aspirational chic, stylish, effortless, empowering and versatile clothing that caters to the demands of their professional lifestyles. This will inspire the creation, style, look, and feel of the FIFA 1904 collection.”
The brand is also set to feature technically advanced materials in its collection, and develop each step under the prism of sustainability. Launching in spring 2025, the first FIFA 1904 ready-to-wear collection is expected to be available via the VFiles online flagship and will be carried by select global wholesale partners.
VFiles looks to continue to launch fashion brands, starting with their own VFiles fashion brand, and will announce the development of new licences in 2025.
