The Kentucky Wildcats are looking to completely retool their roster as they head into the Mark Pope era of the program.
Currently, the roster sits at three players with Travis Perry, Collin Chandler, and Amari Williams locked in for the 2024-25 season. The staff has been in contact with the top names that have entered the transfer portal, and one of the top players could potentially be visiting Kentucky.
According to Aaron Torres, Saint Mary’s guard Aidan Mahaney is starting to narrow down his visits, and the UK ‘might’ receive one, but it’s not set in stone.
PORTAL NEWS: An update on Aidan Mahaney’s recruitment, per his AAU coach @RyanSilver1 of West Coast Elite:
* Mahaney has already visited Creighton
* Has visits set up to Virginia and UConnHis final visit will come down to Florida, USC or Kentucky

In a conversation with his former AAU coach, Ryan Silver, Torres says that the talented guard has visited Creighton and has visits set up with Virginia and UConn. The final visit will come down to Florida, USC, or Kentucky.
This past season, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound Mahaney averaged 13.9 points on 38.6% shooting (35.5% on 3s) with 2.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game as a true sophomore. He will have two years of eligibility at his next school.
If Kentucky can land the final visit, that will go a long way in determining who wins out. But without a visit, it’s hard to see the Wildcats being a serious contender.
