The holiday booking company Seine River Cruises has shared the UK’s favourite destinations for a relaxing cruise holiday.
Cruising gives tourists the chance to experience a wide range of different countries, with some itineraries allowing passengers to get a taste of nations each day.
According to Seine River Cruises’ study, which took into account the number of Google searches each month, the Caribbean is the top destination for many Brits, with 47,700 typically searching for holidays there each month.
Known for its tropical weather, with temperatures regularly in the 30s, the Caribbean is full of islands with white sand beaches and clear seas, making it a great spot to unwind.
Whilst itineraries depend heavily on the company, particular ship and sometimes the voyage itself, many Caribbean cruises typically visit Cozumel in Mexico, the Bahamas and Belize.
Seine River Cruises also noted that many UK tourists enjoy a journey to the Mediterranean, with nearly 27,000 searches logged each month.
Compared to the Caribbean, the Mediterranean offers very similar pleasant weather and is a more convenient location to travel to, with many journeys starting and finishing in Southampton.
Typically, cruises visiting the Mediterranean will visit ports such as Barcelona, Civitavecchia, the official port of Rome, and Monte Carlo.
Finally, the company found that Brits who are not as interested in soaking up the sun whilst they are away are interested in a trip to Norway.
Another convenient location for UK-based tourists to visit, Norway offers incredibly beautiful fjords and snow-capped mountains.
In many cases, cruise lines visiting Norway travel to some coastal cities, including Bergen or Stavanger, as well as smaller, more scenic locations, including Åndalsnes and Flåm.
