When it comes to holiday parks, the ideal location offers something for everyone – from fun activities for the little ones to relaxation spots for the grandparents.
The AA has just unveiled its top UK campsites and caravan parks for 2025, chosen by inspectors for their “for their outstanding overall quality and high levels of customer care, all of these sites hold excellent reputations.”
The 2023-24 winner, Warren Farm Holiday Centre, a family-run park near the beach, was pipped to the post this year by Trevornick in Hollywell Bay, Cornwall.
According to the AA, this seaside complex boasts superb facilities including a pool complex with an extra spa room, sun lounge area, children’s splash pool and various dining options.
The consumer website highlighted some of the park’s standout features, such as a wide range of entertainment options including a children’s club and evening cabaret, a sandy beach just a 15-minute walk away, and 36 Euro tents for hire, along with luxury static caravans.
But that’s not all – the site also offers indoor activities like a games room, licensed bar, shop and cafe, in case the weather turns or you simply fancy a day indoors. Other amenities include an outdoor pool, playground, golf course, sports field and even fishing opportunities!
And if all that isn’t enough to tempt you, the park’s stunning location might just seal the deal.
The AA has lavished praise on Cornwall, saying: “Cornwall has just about everything – wild moorland landscapes, glorious river valley scenery, picturesque villages and miles of breathtaking coastline.”
They added that the region is a haven for sports enthusiasts, noting: “With more than 80 surfing spots, there are plenty of sporting enthusiasts who also make their way here to enjoy wave-surfing, kite surfing and blokarting.”
Trevornick Holiday Park has garnered an impressive 4.5 rating on Google, with one visitor sharing: “I love this holiday park, there is so much on offer, from basic amenities to fun and entertainment for you and your family.”
The review continues to highlight the staff’s contribution to the experience: “The team at Trevornick is always friendly and welcoming, adding to that holiday experience. From the staff working in the shops and the club to the team that work the grounds. Everyone that you see is there to help (must be the Cornish air).”
The site’s accommodation options are diverse, as noted by another customer: “With lodges, statics, and simple camping pitches to choose from, this site welcomes all, including our four-legged friends.
“Catering to the needs of our extended family, there is also a dog walking field away from the main camping area. There is plenty of space and bins for their business.”
For those looking to dine out, Trevornick does not disappoint, offering a variety of dining experiences. A satisfied guest remarked: “For those not in the mood for cooking, Trevornick offers several dining experiences. They have Woody’s bar and restaurant. This is a wonderful surf style bar situated at the back end of the golf course.
“And there is a takeaway near the shop and club. This is set up in your traditional fish and chip shop style but with some seating if you wish to eat in.”
