The Planning Inspectorate is pleased to announce the launch of ‘Find a National Infrastructure Project’, the new online service for national infrastructure planning.
This launch is a key step in our ongoing efforts to improve our processes in line with the government’s NSIP (Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project) reform action plan. Our aim is to make it easier for everyone to participate in the NSIP process.
‘Find a National Infrastructure Project’ serves as an essential online resource for information and engagement about NSIPs. These large-scale projects include power stations, highways, and power lines. The Planning Inspectorate, responsible for examining applications of this size in England and Wales, has ensured that the site allows users to navigate consistently through each stage of the NSIP process.
This launch follows a period of rigorous testing, modernisation, and improvements to ensure that both the public and planning professionals have access to all the necessary information. Key features of the site include:
Last month, all English projects transitioned to the new site. Projects located partially or entirely in Wales will continue to use the legacy website while the content is being translated into Welsh. These projects are expected to move to the new site this summer.
