London has been named the most Instagrammable destination in the world for an autumn city break.
It’s the second year in a row that the UK’s capital has topped the charts for the city featured in the most Instagrams – a staggering 164,890,942 posts. London also came out high in the TikTok and Google search charts.
Paris came in second place in the Instagram stakes, followed by Istanbul and New York. Dubai was the most popular city on TikTok and for Google searches.
However, neither London, Dubia or Paris topped the social travel score charts, which considers a city’s popularity across multiple social media and search platforms.
It comes as Google reports a 5000% increase in searches for “autumn travel inspiration. The new research from the travel experts at Titan Travel tours analysed Instagram data to crown the world’s most photogenic city breaks.
The research also looked into TikTok and Google search data for the world’s most visited countries and cities over the last three years. It found that Nice, France’s second-largest city, took the top spot – with a social travel score of 8.42 out of 10.
Nice had the third-highest number of TikTok posts and the sixth-highest number of Instagram posts.
While London came second, with a social travel score of 8.17, it topped the Instagram charts.Paris completed the top three with a social travel score of 8.06 out of 10.
A spokesperson for Tita Travel said: “With over 160 million Instagram posts, London is the world’s most photogenic city, for the second year in a row!
England’s capital has many photogenic spots, including the Tower of London, Big Ben and the London Eye, which provides a beautiful view of the city’s skyline.
“A 77.56% increase in Google searches and a 4.82% increase in Instagram posts about London in the last 3 years shows just how popular it is amongst tourists wanting to visit this buzzing city.”
