Business investment in UK research and development fell 6.4 per cent in real terms in two years, official figures have shown.
While £50 billion of private funding was ploughed into R&D last year—up by £1.4bn from the year before—taking into account inflation, investment actually dropped 3.1 per cent between 2022 and 2023, according to figures published by the Office for National Statistics yesterday.
