Mark Pope and the Kentucky Wildcats have been hard at work bringing in transfers from all around the country.
Kentucky has landed several commitments, but Coach Pope has shown no interest in slowing down.
Most recently, Pope landed a commitment from Oklahoma Sooners transfer Otega Oweh.
The talented wing was in Lexington on Thursday for an official visit to Kentucky and is now officially a Wildcat.
The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Oweh then took a big leap in year two at Oklahoma, starting almost every game for the Sooners, upping his averages to 11.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and 1.0 assists in 24.9 minutes per game.
It is clear Mark Pope likes for his offense to shoot the 3, and Oweh fits, averaging an impressive 37.7% from behind the arc last season.
Let’s see what Twitter thinks about Pope’s latest addition.
I really like this pickup for UK:
Oweh is a reliable scorer with a good interior shooting game (11.4 points per game, most of those coming from two-point shots). Defensively he’s one of the strongest guards in the portal. His projected Defensive BPR for next season is better… https://t.co/8kC5rCmR1B

Mark Pope on Oklahoma transfer Otega Oweh:
“Otega shot 37 percent from the 3-point line last year. He’s elite at earning trips to the free-throw line and he brings a special physicality and intensity to the game. Otega spent his entire season last year picking up the point guard…

Otega Oweh has committed to KENTUCKY!!!
6’5″ 215 lbs guard averaged 11.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game as a sophomore starter at Oklahoma.
Older. More Physical. Better Defensively. ✔️✔️✔️
Coach Pope has landed three ELITE defenders in the transfer portal.

Mark Pope has added arguably the three best defenders in the transfer portal in Otega Oweh, Lamont Butler and Amari Williams
Replacing a historically bad defense with some of the toughest, most physical guys available. Pope’s got some bad, bad dudes coming in. https://t.co/pNVw4nIIQT

Otega Oweh
6’5 Sophomore Guard, Oklahoma
Latest Big Board Ranking: #63We are firm in the position that Oweh is the most underrated guard prospect in the draft. The former top-100 recruit has taken an unbelievable jump in production following a quiet freshman year. pic.twitter.com/vfCHld3mZU
