A TV sports presenter who was arrested for raping a child was allegedly held by the police for 18 hours after an early morning raid on his home.
The presenter, reportedly arrested on suspicion of raping a child, had his home raided at 4am earlier this week, according to The Sun.
Officers seized electronical devices and documents for examination from the man’s house.
The host was reportedly held in custody for around 18 hours and was questioned by detectives before being released on bail, pending further enquiries.
The newspaper claimed that the rape allegation is historical and the child was younger than 10 years old at the time.

The alleged complainant made the allegation recently and it was reported to police before they were interviewed by specialist child abuse investigation officers.
It is alleged that the child was raped on more than one occasion and thought that his colleagues were unaware of the incidents.
The Sun claims a neighbour of the man – who cannot be named for legal reasons – said: ‘The police turned up very early.
‘They took him away and were there for a while carrying out a search. Everyone is shocked at his arrest.’
The Sun reported that the police force conducting the investigation has confirmed the individual’s arrest.
