The Kentucky Wildcats are on the road tonight, scheduled to face the Georgia Bulldogs in Athens.
The No. 6 Wildcats shot up the Associated Press Top-25 rankings after their 106-100 win over the Florida Gators this past Saturday afternoon.
It was Kentucky’s first Southeastern Conference game of the season, and the Wildcats certainly lived up to the hype by pulling out a victory over the then-No. 6 team (and also undefeated) in the country.
Mark Pope and his players will have their first road test of SEC play tonight at Georgia, and it’s a game they should not overlook.
Though the Bulldogs aren’t ranked inside the Top-25, they’re still 12-2 on the season and 1-2 against Top-25 teams. Georgia beat St. John’s earlier in the year while losing to Marquette early and most recently falling to Ole Miss over the weekend.
According to ESPN’s Basketball Power Index, Kentucky has just a 53% chance to win tonight, while oddsmakers tend to agree, favoring the Wildcats by 2.5 points.
Even if Georgia isn’t a Top-25 team, a victory would build heavy momentum for the Wildcats and further enhance their resume. After all, March Madness is two short months away.
Tune in tonight by watching on the SEC Network or listening in on the UK Sports Network.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7 PM ET.
