Good morning BBN!
The end of the college basketball regular season is quickly approaching as only two weeks remain until conference tournaments.
The Kentucky Wildcats are still trying to get healthy as the postseason quickly approaches, and luckily they sit in a pretty good spot heading into the final two weeks. We all saw the Cats make the th3ree-seed line during the first top-16 reveal a few weeks back, and according to the Bracket Matrix, Mark Pope’s first Kentucky team is sitting firmly on that line still.
Let’s take a look at a few of the highlights.
The majority of those trying to project the brackets have the Cats sitting anywhere from a 2-seed all the way down to the 5-seed line. Joe Lunardi and ESPN currently have Kentucky on the 3-seed line while Jerry Palm and CBS have UK as a 4-seed entering the final weeks.
Then you have some people who aren’t as high of Kentucky’s resume, like Fox Sports, who has the team sitting on the 5-seed line.
Overall the final two weeks give some major opportunities. Go 3-1, and you are firmly sticking at the 3-seed line it appears. Include a possible win over No. 1 Auburn in these three wins, and this team has a good shot of maybe making a jump to the 2-seed line with a decent run in Nashville.
Going to be fun to watch these next few weeks to track where the Cats could end up.
Kentucky is ranked #17 in the country on 2/24. #12 in the NET with 8 Quad 1 wins. Tracking towards being a 4-seed, maybe a 3-seed in the NCAA Tournament.
If you could have signed to be in that position before the season tipped off would you have taken the deal?
