Tottenham are closing in on a move for Leeds midfielder Archie Gray, worth between £30m and £40m, with defender Joe Rodon moving the other way.
The 18-year-old is expected to have a medical at Spurs’ training ground after agreeing to a long-term deal in north London.
Spurs are expected to secure Gray from under the nose of London rivals Brentford, who had the youngster begin a medical at their training ground, only to see their bid of a similar value rejected by Leeds over payment structure and add-ons on Sunday.
The sale is believed to be enough to make Leeds compliant with profit and sustainability rules after their defeat in the Championship play-off final by Southampton cost them promotion and forced them to sell players.
The England Under-21 player, who also qualifies for Scotland, also reportedly attracted interest from Chelsea and Liverpool.
He was a near ever-present for Leeds last season, playing 52 matches in all competitions – in midfield and at right-back – and he signed a new long-term deal in January.
Wales international Rodon, 26, will join Leeds in a separate deal believed to be worth about £10m.
Meanwhile, Leeds defender Charlie Cresswell is set for a move to Toulouse for £3.8m and due to have a medical after flying to France, while Marc Roca has also been sold to Real Betis for a reported £4m.
