With Caleb Wilson now off the board, the Kentucky Wildcats don’t have many remaining 2025 recruits they’re in the mix for.
Alijah Arenas is one of the few, and he just announced a new list that includes Kentucky making the cut. The other four schools are the Louisville Cardinals, Arizona Wildcats, USC Trojans, and Kansas Jayhawks.
The son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas, Alijah announced the news on his father’s podcast after also being named to the 2025 McDonald’s All-American Game.
Standing at 6-foot-4 and 180 pounds, Arenas plays at Chatsworth High School in California. He was previously ranked as high as third overall in the class of 2026 by On3.
However, Arenas has since reclassified into 2025 and will now be on a college campus this fall. He’s now ranked 10th overall in 2025 by On3 and 247 Sports, while ESPN has him ranked 12th. Rivals does not have him ranked yet in the 2025 class.
It remains to be seen how much of a contender Kentucky truly is, as he has yet to visit Lexington. But with Wilson now off the table, Mark Pope and Co. do have more NIL money to offer Arenas.
Will be intriguing to see how this recruitment develops.
