Toni Ruiz, Mango‘s CEO and vice-chairman of the board of directors, will assume the role of president held by Isak Andic, who died in a mountaineering accident on December 14, until a new president will be appointed, Mango said in a statement on Friday.
Ruiz joined Mango in 2015 as CFO, a post he held until he was appointed CEO in 2018, becoming “the company’s chief executive officer following Isak Andic’s decision to step down from an executive role.”
“Toni Ruiz has been the architect of the transformation of Mango ever since he joined the company, achieving the best results in Mango’s history in 2023, with growth higher than the market’s and a healthy financial situation,” said Mango.
The company further stated that Mango “has a solid and well-established corporate governance model, in line with market standards and comprehensively defined over the past two years,” consisting of a board of directors featuring eight members — four executive directors and four independent ones — and a management committee.
“The commitment of Isak Andic, founder of Mango, to professionalism and to implementing best practices in corporate governance is the best guarantee for the continuity of the strategic plan that sets out Mango’s roadmap for years to come,” said the company.
Mango went on to say that Ruiz and Jonathan Andic, a member of the board of directors representing the Andic family, have reiterated this week to Mango staff “their commitment to upholding the spirit, vision and values of Isak Andic in order to preserve his legacy.”
Mango’s top supervisory body is the board of directors, composed of CEO and vice-chairman Ruiz (through his company Ionian Investments), executive directors Jonathan Andic, Daniel López and Margarita Salvans, and independent directors Jordi Canals, professor and president of the Centre for Corporate Governance at the IESE Business School, Jorge Lucaya, founding partner of AZ Capital, Jordi Constans, a director and former director of various Spanish and international corporations, and Marc Puig, CEO of Puig.
Eugenia Jover, head of Mango’s legal department, is the board’s non-executive secretary.
The running of Mango’s business is in the hands of the management committee, composed of 11 members representing the company’s main departments: Toni Ruiz, CEO; Jonathan Andic, global head of Mango menswear; Luis Casacuberta, head of product and sustainability; César De Vicente, head of retail operations; Elena Carasso, head of online sales and customer care; Daniel López, head of business development and franchising; Blanca Muñiz, brand director; Jochen Grosspietsch, head of sourcing; Jordi Álex Moreno, head of technology, data, privacy and security; David Payeras, head of human resources; and Margarita Salvans, CFO.
