TNT SPORTS were hailed for showing the perfect graphic seconds before Southampton’s goal at Manchester United.
The Saints travelled to Old Trafford bottom of the Premier League on the back of three defeats.
But they also made the trip having not scored a single goal from a corner kick all season – as shown in a graphic on TNT.
So it came as no surprise to United fans when just seconds later the hosts went behind following a Manuel Ugarte own goal from a Southampton corner kick.
One said: “Southampton haven’t scored from a corner this season. Man Utd: Hold my beer.”
Another added: “I just KNEW Southampton were scoring from that corner as soon as those corner stats appeared on the screen.”
One joked: “I’m crying, commentary said Southampton haven’t scored from a corner this season and IMMEDIATELY they score it vs Man United.”
Another said: “Whoever from TNT Sports put that graphic up before Southampton scored from their corner needs a pay rise.”
While Southampton have found little success scoring corners this season – United have had the same problem defending them.
Ugarte own goal was the tenth goal Ruben Amorim’s side have conceded from a corner this season.
