Full Moons are a time for releasing and relinquishing. If you have an excess in your life, this is the time for it to go down the drain. Through silent meditation, exchanging of thoughts, or spiritual practice, Full Moons are a point when we can let go. June’s Full Moon in Capricorn is an astrological hint to reminisce about how much you’ve grown. Following Western astrology, these new and complete Moon guides are monthly reminders to set and review your intentions. Your horoscope is a rudimentary prompt for self-reflection.
Letting go is a process, and it’s okay if it takes you more than one Full Moon in Capricorn to achieve it. Yes, you read that right—there will be two Full Moons in Capricorn this Cancer season, a rare occurrence.
The first Full Moon in Capricorn occurs on June 21, 2024, at 9:07 PM Eastern Time, just one day after the summer solstice and the start of Cancer season. In the U.S., one of the traditional names for the Full Moon in June is the Strawberry Full Moon; other traditional names include the Berries Ripen Moon, Blooming Moon, and Green Corn Moon.
With Capricorn being a cardinal earth sign ruled by Saturn, this Full Moon represents the need to actively reflect on what you’ve held onto past its expiration date. While it may be hard to let go of something you care for deeply, you may discover you have no other choice. Try to be mindful of how you may smother or co-dependently manipulate something/someone to avoid saying goodbye. It’s okay if it takes more than one lunar cycle to do so. You’ll get a second Full Moon in Capricorn in exactly one month, on July 21.
No one loves feeling stuck on a path that is no longer aligned with their spirit. There is a difference between doing something because you love it and doing something because you’ve convinced yourself you must. If you feel stuck on a singular path that doesn’t feel right, sit and meditate on the question, “What is my soul’s path?” You’ll be surprised what your mind is capable of answering.
Sometimes, we internalize lessons as young people; because adulthood means so much, we’re incapable of challenging our superiors. As a result, we can internalize illogical and counterintuitive knowledge. What profoundly ingrained lessons come to your attention during this lunar cycle? How can you change them?
How do the fantasies you have about how your life could be prevent you from capitalizing on the moment? You may be so lost in the idea of the next ten years that you’re missing out on the ordinary loves that surround you today. Are you willing to make a perfectly mundane memory today? Who will you ask to join you?
Cancer
Stand your ground, Cancer. There are schools of thought and forms of manipulation that you couldn’t even imagine. Why try to rumble with others when you can stand firm on your own? The best way to let karma work is to step aside and let those who call for consequences be the recipients of their own choices.
When life becomes too much, you can let yourself retreat into your subconscious. Call it your inner self, but sometimes life asks us to disconnect from driving and put ourselves on autopilot. If you’re familiar with what’s before your eyes, can you let the flow state take over? Not every experience requires extensive thought; get in touch with your animal instincts.
Networking and friendship are two entirely different concepts. You can network with your enemies; maybe it’s best to keep boundaries between business and buddies. Now is an opportune time to make the acquaintance of some new faces. However, this might not be the time to convert them into partners, besties, or babes. Trust the universe on this one. Life has a way of revealing why some dreams don’t need to come true.
Gosh, Libra, sometimes it can be tough to justify putting your career first. Even if someone understands your dilemma and is supportive, how do you cope with the uncertainty? This Full Moon is a soft reminder that the big decisions don’t have to be made all at once. You may struggle with imagining what you’d like your work life to be like, so spend some time with your imagination. What you imagine can help you decide what’s best for you.
Where do your bad habits lead you to, Scorpio? I get it. Fitting in as an adult is tough if you don’t find a niche that feels right. The more specific your interests are, the less likely you are to find your people. As a result, you might find yourself folding and trying to fit in where you feel like the odd one out. Maybe the best thing you can do is rest on your values instead of bending to loneliness.
Somehow your home is getting in the way of you being able to enjoy your life. Try not to worry. Even though the problem is unlikely to resolve itself in one lunar cycle, you will soon see the tides turn. Patience and a willingness to let go of material possessions will serve you in the long run. Fall back on the knowledge that when you speak your needs, those who love you will come to catch you if you fall.
It’s hard to release aspects of ourselves that hinder our ability to give and receive love. During this lunar cycle, you will benefit from journaling about how your heart opens and closes throughout the day. Which experiences do you find yourself shutting down? Which memories are you open to recreating? You may need to focus on your past and consider how your potentially harsh expectations block you from receiving love with your heart wide open.
I read something wild this month: “The subconscious doesn’t exist.” When I read that, my mind exploded and my inner psychology major panicked a bit. But let’s entertain the idea. If there is no true subconscious, then how did you develop one? If you could continuously live in your consciousness, what causes you to be unaware? This Moon cycle is a great time to journal your seemingly mundane, meaningless, and latent thoughts.
The world of work doesn’t need to occupy every fiber of your being, Pisces. Intellectualizing about the woes of capitalism is such a surface-level method of expressing exhaustion and unfamiliarity. How do you teach yourself the language of play? This lunar cycle is a great time to reflect on the art of creativity. Once you develop a method to your madness, maybe you’ll have an easier time letting yourself lose your marbles.
