It has been named the third most beautiful city in the UK after Oxford and Worcester, reports Devon Live. In 2024, it was named as the second most affordable place to retire by The Telegraph in its top 10 list. If you’re planning to visit, one must-see place is Exeter Cathedral which is known for its incredible architecture.
The building is one of Europe’s most incredible cathedrals and once inside, you’ll have endless opportunities to explore its pretty interior, clandestine corners and hidden histories.

While you’re in the area, you should visit Exeter Quay which is popular with locals and visitors alike for its fascinating history, interesting architecture and lively pubs and restaurants.
The city has also been called a great place to live by Heart Home Mag, it is a highly sought-after location for affluent commuters to settle down into family life with its fantastic schools and relaxed, idyllic lifestyle.

Another spot in the city which is a popular place among tourists is the Royal Albert Memorial Museum and Art Gallery.
