This beautiful UK city is a pretty part of England but it’s not one that Brits often travel to.

Norwich, in Norfolk, can be reached in just under two hours by train and offers a quiet relaxing break.

Despite it not being a huge tourist destination, Norwich has a lot to offer. It has been named as one of the best places to live due to having such a wide variety of things to do and see in the area, while also being close to the coast.

The city has a range of dining options, shopping centres, cobbled streets and pretty green park spaces.

Around the festive season, Norwich is also home to a Christmas market which is known for being a smaller, more intimate artisan market.

One of the most popular attractions in the area is Norwich Cathedral. The Cathedral is one of the finest complete Romanesque buildings in Europe, with the highest Norman tower and largest monastic cloisters in England.

Another great place to visit in the area is The Norfolk Broads National Park. This park is a much much loved place to visit due to its beautiful natural scenery. 

You can hire a boat and head out into the waters or you can take a walk along the canalside which both offer a relaxing and enjoyable time.

One visitor on Tripadvisor said: “One of our favourite places to visit. We often hire a boat when we come here but it’s nice to walk along the canals too and there’s so many beautiful views. Very relaxing, clear water, you can do some bird spotting whilst you’re there. Very beautiful landscapes.”

Also, taking a walk along a nearby beach is a must-do while in Norwich. Gorleston-on-sea beach is located 35 minutes away from the city and is situated just south of Great Yarmouth.

The beach is a hidden gem and means you’ll be able to make the most of the city and the coast as part of your trip.

Even in the colder months, taking a stroll along the beach is a refreshing experience.
