Today, the Prince of Wales marked a significant milestone for the NFL Foundation U.K. by joining an event in London to meet with 50 young people from across the U.K. who benefit from the Foundation’s initiatives.

Established as the NFL’s first philanthropic arm outside the U.S., the NFL Foundation U.K. has been active for three years, partnering with 23 community organizations across major cities such as London, Birmingham, Greater Manchester, and Leeds.

By providing resources and programs, the Foundation has positively impacted over 6,000 young people, bringing them together through the inclusive sport of NFL Flag football.

The program, designed to engage youth in underserved areas, offers NFL Flag training and equipment to community organizations with a focus on promoting physical health, mental wellbeing, education, and community-building.

NFL U.K. and Ireland General Manager Henry Hodgson highlighted the Foundation’s transformative role, saying :

“The NFL Foundation U.K. is a powerful program that helps to change the lives of young people in communities that are often underrepresented and underserved.”

He also expressed gratitude for the Prince’s visit, which spotlighted the Foundation’s role in bringing positive changes to the youth they serve, especially during the London Games.

During his visit, His Royal Highness engaged with participants and community representatives from several U.K. organizations, including HR Academy (London), Connect Stars (London), Big Kid (London), Solidarity Community Association (Bolton), and Saathi House (Birmingham).

He also joined in on NFL Flag activities, alongside Louis Rees-Zammit of the Jacksonville Jaguars, GB Women’s Flag Football Team Captain Phoebe Schecter, NFL legend Jason Bell, and British-born two-time Super Bowl champion Osi Umenyiora.

Rees-Zammit, who joined the Prince on the field, spoke highly of the Foundation, emphasizing the impact of the NFL’s community efforts and expressing pride in representing the Jaguars and their local initiatives.
