Fragrance and Valentine’s Day have long been the perfect couple. And that romance certainly is enduring for The Perfume Shop.
The retailer, which hit the sales jackpot on a number of occasions last year, continues the run telling us it again reported again strong sales results with over 240,000 SKUs sold across 1-14 February as consumers looked to make their Valentine’s Day gifts “extra special”.
While Valentine’s is always a big fragrance season, this year has been particularly good. Performance was driven by a 34% increase in retail sales across both classic and new perfumes and a 50% increase in gift sets retail sales compared to last year.
Last-minute shopping also proved popular this Valentine’s Day with its website’s busiest day on 12 February, seeing a 7% increase in fragrance purchases, “with customers also making the most of half-price next delivery with guaranteed delivery before Valentine’s Day”.
Also, the retailer’s personalisation services saw high demand, delivering over 39,655 ribbons and 983 engraved fragrances, up 2% on 2024.
And if you’re wondering what were the top sellers among those 240,000 sales, look no further…
Topping the list was Lancôme La Vie Est Belle, followed by Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium, Prada Paradoxe, Euphoria, and Pascal Morabito.
For men, Dior Sauvage topped the list followed by Hugo Boss Night, Bleu De Chanel, Burberry Touch For Men and Joop! Homme.
