As the summer comes to an end in the UK, for those who are not yet ready to let it go, there are still many places that will extend the summer right into the next month.
Cancun, one of Mexico’s most popular holiday destinations has an average temperature of 33C in October. Located in the Caribbean Sea, the city is home to around 11 beaches, including ones for families, couples, and partying.
Playa Delfines is the largest and most popular beach in Cancun with umbrellas and palapas available to rent and dolphins that make a show.
Other beaches in the city include Playa Caracol, which is in the middle of the hotel zone; Playa Chac Mool, located close to Party Beach; Playa Forum; and Playa Langosta, which has a playground for children, making it perfect for families.
A direct flight to Cancun takes around 10 hours and right now deals are going on where an adult can book a return flight for under £400.
Besides the white-sanded beaches, Cancun offers a variety of activities for tourists to enjoy.
Book a historical tour for under £25. The tour includes sightseeing of the archaeological ruins of Chichen Itza which was a pre-Columbian city in AD 600 – AD 1200, a swim in the waters of the Cenote (sinkholes) and a walking tour of Valladolid.
Additionally, you can enjoy a speedboat ride around Nichupte Lagoon and explore Musa, the city’s underwater museum which is just 30 minutes off the coast of Cancun.
The three–six-metre water deep museum is made up of 500 sculptures and has three different galleries. There are four different tours available to book and visit the museum.
Those who enjoy water activities can opt-in for the snorkelling or diving tours. There is also a “Glass Bottom Boat” option for those who would prefer to not do any sort of swimming around. Prices range from around £22 to £130.
For £50, you can participate in the Jungle ATV tour. It will take you through the Maya jungle, where you can ride on bumpy jungle trails, go on a zipline, and enjoy a swim in the cenote.
But if all the fast-paced activities are not your thing or you do not want to spend. The choices of beaches will not disappoint.
