Majorca is a hugely popular holiday destination and it’s loved by millions of Brits.

Many of us will think we know the beautiful Balearic Island pretty well. But most will not know about a stunning beach that the locals would rather keep for themselves.  

Cala Llombards is a stunning cove tucked away in the southeast of Majorca. Approximately six miles from the picturesque old market town of Santanyi, this tiny beach is a long strip of white sand, tucked between pine tree-topped cliffs.  

The Majorca Daily Bulletin says thrill-seekers often leap from these craggy cliffs into Cala Llombards’ clear waters. Es Pontàs – an incredible bridge-shaped rock that is at the entrance to Cala Llombards – can also be viewed from these cliffs, at the Mirador Es Pontàs.

The beach is surrounded by forests – and there are still some fishermen’s houses along the cove – which all add to its charm. Unsurprisingly, it does get very busy in the summer. 

It’s a very popular beach with locals – and German tourists, who rent luxury holiday villas nearby.  Despite this, it’s relatively unspoiled.
