You could spend hours walking around and taking in the sights.
A visitor on Tripadvisor said: “Gorgeous area for staying in, walking and cycling. Lovely visitor centre, with walks direct up the valley past all the dams and reservoirs, or into Cnwch Woods.
“Great campsite in the valley too. We walked around the Afon Elan, the village, Cnwch Woods, and along the valley to the Caban Coch dam and reservoir.
“Also had a lovely cycle seven miles upstream to Craig Goch dam and reservoir, before returning to the café. You could stay a long time to experience all this area has to offer.”
Another penned: “Stunning views without the herds of tourists. Views to rival the Lake District. Picture perfect 10/10. Easily accessible by car and for people of all abilities, with plenty of stop off points to take it all in and take some pics. Can’t wait to return.”
Elan Valley has been inhabited since the stone age and over the years has been known for mining, religious sites and its beautiful scenery.
