Half a dozen places in Britain have been identified as the worst locations to live if Vladimir Putin were to target the UK in World War 3.
London, Portsmouth and four military bases across the country could be potential targets, according to TikTok account GeoDiscovery.
It says the capital would be top of the Russian president’s hit list as it is the administrative and defence centre of Britain.
“Key” military installations would also be on Putin’s radar, including HMNB Clyde in Scotland, which is commonly known as Faslane. This is the home of Britain’s nuclear deterrent and the Submarine Service.
Russia is likely to target RAF Flyingdales in North Yorkshire too, given its role as an early warning system for the UK and United States.
The base is tasked with making sure surprise missile attacks fail, using high tech radar to track objects up to 3,000 miles out in space.
RAF Menwith Hill, also in North Yorkshire, is a Royal Air Force communications station which gathers intelligence for the UK and US.
Near Harrogate, RAF Menwith Hill is a ground station for satellites operated by the United States’ National Reconnaissance Office, with antennas housed in white, golf ball-shaped buildings.
As Britain’s largest Royal Air Force station, RAF Brize Norton in Oxfordshire would also be on Putin’s list, according to GeoDiscovery.
It says that by damaging the base, which is home to the RAF’s Air Mobility Force, Russia would impair Britain’s ability to carry out air operations.
Finally, Portsmouth would be in the firing line, given its being home to a Royal Navy base. The city is home to nearly two thirds of the Royal Navy’s surface ships, including the aircraft carriers HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Queen Elizabeth.
GeoDiscovery warns: “If a nuclear war breaks out between the United Kingdom and Russia and you don’t want to see God so soon, then stay away from these places.”
Speculation about World War 3 and potential targets has been fuelled in recent months by Kremlin rhetoric in response to support for Ukraine from Western countries, including Britain.
Russia‘s top diplomat, Sergei Lavrov, warned in August that the West was playing with fire in mulling whether to let Kyiv use western-supplied missiles to strike deep inside his country’s territory.
Lavrov warned Washington that a potential World War 3 wouldn’t be confined to Europe and that Moscow was considering its nuclear doctrine, which outlines when Russia would contemplate using a nuclear weapon.
The Financial Times reported in the summer that Russia has trained its navy to target sites in Europe with nuclear missiles. Targets in the UK were included in the secret documents obtained by the publication.
They were first drawn up between 2008 and 2014 for presentational purposes, according to the FT, which reported that the Cumbrian port town of Barrow-in-Furness was among the potential targets.
