Tesco has announced the expansion of its same-day delivery and collection services to over 400 large stores nationwide.
This industry-leading initiative proposes to offer customers more flexibility and earlier access to both home delivery and click+collect slots across the UK.
Previously, Tesco’s same-day click+collect slots began at 4pm, while home delivery slots were only available from 7pm.
Starting from today however, customers will be able to book click+collect slots from midday until 8pm, providing more same-day shopping opportunities.
Home delivery slots will now be available from 1pm until 11pm.
Customers must place or amend their order by 8:45am that day via Tesco’s website or app.
These enhanced same-day slots are available as part of Tesco’s Anytime Delivery Saver and Click+Collect Delivery Saver plans.
Customers on Off Peak plans or using the Pay As You Go option will still need to pay the respective slot price.
A small additional surcharge remains in place for all same-day slots, priced at £2 for home delivery and £1 for click+collect.
The process for booking slots remains unchanged, with the newly available times clearly displayed on the booking page.
According to the supermarket, Tesco now offers same-day slots which are at least four hours earlier than the earliest slot offered by any other full-line retailer (excluding rapid delivery propositions).
Tom Denyard, Tesco’s Online Managing Director, said: “We are excited to have rolled out more same-day opportunities for customers to get an online slot, offering customers more spaces – and therefore more flexibility – than ever before.
“This allows them to book closer to their delivery or collection time and therefore improve our market-leading customer experience.”
