The biggest night in the NFL calendar is almost here as Super Bowl LIX takes place this weekend. The championship game marks the grand finale of the 2024/25 season, with two of the sport’s biggest teams left standing after the playoff rounds.
On Sunday, February 9, the Kansas City Chiefs will face the Philadelphia Eagles at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, with both teams fighting to get their hands on the Lombardi Trophy once more. A win will see the Chiefs make history as the first team to ever win three consecutive Super Bowls.
They ploughed through the playoffs to secure their place in the finale, with their last game ending in a 32-29 win against Buffalo Bills. They face tough opposition though, with the Eagles no stranger to success having lifted the trophy most recently in 2018 at Super Bowl LII with a win over the New England Patriots.
Sunday’s game marks a repeat of Super Bowl LVII, in which the Eagles were defeated by the Chiefs 38-35. Now two years later, the teams meet once again at the Caesars Superdome – home of the New Orleans Saints – which will host the game for the eighth time.
Here’s how to watch Super Bowl LIX in the UK and who will be performing in the halftime show.
In the UK, NFL fans can watch Super Bowl LIX live from 11.30pm for 99p with DAZN’s NFL Game Pass. This includes the authentic US broadcast not included with ITV’s free-to-air broadcast.
DAZN’s Season Pro package usually costs £19.99, but has been reduced to 99p as a one-off payment, which provides access to all NFL content until July 31. There’s also the option to upgrade to Season Pro Ultimate for £4.99, which offers streaming on five devices in two locations, plus up to four games on one screen with multiview.
Alternatively, NFL Game Pass is also available on Amazon’s Prime Video for 99p per month for six months and £29.99 thereafter. Sky Sports is also home to a dedicated NFL channel, which comes as standard with the new £35 Essential TV and Sky Sports bundle.
As always, Super Bowl LIX will also feature the hotly-anticipated halftime show, which this year is led by American rapper Kendrick Lamar. The 22-time Grammy-winner will be joined by R&B singer SZA as the event’s special guest.
The NFL announced Lamar as the halftime performer in a video shared on X in September. In it, he said: “I’ll be performing at Super Bowl 59 will you be pulling up? I hope so. You know there’s only one opportunity to win a championship. No round twos, let’s get it.”
Sunday will mark the second time the Not Like Us star has performed at a Super Bowl halftime show, following his 2022 appearance alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and Mary J. Blige.
