Studio Nicholson has returned to its East London roots with a new store and retail concept to mark its 15th anniversary. It becomes the British clothing and lifestyle brand’s second London store, sitting prominently on Shoreditch’s lively Redchurch Street.
The 957 sq ft space presents that new concept which brand founder and creative director Nick Wakeman describes as “intelligent and purposeful, mixing interesting materials, natural and manmade, to evoke the sensibility of the brand’s clothing”.
Working with architectural firm Studio Tuesday, the concept captures the brand’s pared-back attitude, “creating a serene and considered setting to deliver a luxury experience for customers”.
Wakeman said: “We have a loyal group of customers in the area, so it felt all the more important to design a space where you’d want to spend some time. We looked to peaceful and light-filled residential architecture and galleries I’ve visited in Japan for inspiration. I’m so happy with the space as the perfect backdrop for our collections.”
So what’s in store for the 15th anniversary celebrations? Following existing flagship store openings in London’s Soho and Toyko’s Aoyama, as well as four mono-brand stores in South Korea, plus the very new Shoreditch arrival, 2025 will witness “several high-profile collaborations throughout the year alongside a global retail expansion”, says Wakeman.
An official Shoreditch store launch and anniversary celebration are also planned for February.
