Santander

I found flights to Santander for £26 from Birmingham, £29 from Manchester and £38 from Edinburgh and London.

The capital city of Spain’s northern Cantabria region, Santander is close to some of the country’s prettiest white sand beaches. The water might be chillier than the Costa del Sol but the coastline is incredibly beautiful.

Stroll along the Paseo de Pereda, Santander’s seafront, or enjoy some local culinary delicacies at the Mercado de la Esperanza, Spain’s indoor covered market.

Girona

I found flights to Girona for under £40 from Birmingham, London, Bristol, Bournemouth and Belfast airports.

Under an hour and a half drive from Barcelona, Girona is famed for its medieval architecture and Roman remains.

It’s a fantastic alternative to Barcelona if you’re interested in Catalan culture as it’s much cheaper with far fewer crowds.

Ibiza

I found flights to Ibiza for £34 from Manchester, £38 from Bristol, £47 from Liverpool and £49 from London.

The Balearic island is known for its nightlife but there are many quieter parts of Ibiza where tourists can escape the crowds.

Bear in mind that although the flights might be cheap, accommodation in Ibiza can be very pricey and tourists may find holiday costs quickly add up.
